| Many Experiments in One System |

A single TIMS system with its standard set of modules will allow over 50 block diagrams to be patched together, demonstrating over 20 telecommunications techniques. The 'Advanced' modules allow many more block diagrams, or experiments to be set up. (See our 'Experiment List' page for a brief summary of the current coverage.) Like LEGO™, the modules are interchangable, offering users unlimited versatility and ensuring maximum utilisation of the modules held by the user. This is why TIMS offers the lowest cost per experiment of any university level telecommunications trainer in the world. Below is a table of modules needed for a few simple experiments showing how the same modules are used in different experimental configurations.
The more experiments to be covered within a curriculum, the more each module is utilised within the various configurations. |

TIMS is composed of basic single function modules. Each module represents a building block element. Modules are patched together according to universally recognised 'block diagrams'.
